Basil & Pine Nut Pesto

This herbal Italian sauce is the perfect topper for pasta, chicken even fish.  Just 5 main ingredients away from culinary bliss!

 

RECIPE OVERVIEW 


Start off by toasting the pine nuts in a small saucepan. No oil is needed. Once the nuts get warm they will start to let out natural oils.

Add all the ingredients, except the olive oil into a food processor and pulse until leaves and nuts are small & is very thick.  As it thickens up, drizzle in the olive oil until it is smooth running.


Put into a bowl or container, and drizzle with olive oil until ready to serve.

  • 4 oz fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • kosher salt to taste
