Do you believe in love at first sight? It’s a rarity when one enters a restaurant for the first time and immediately you feel ‘Yes! This is it.’

I’ve only had this sentiment to a few restaurants. The French macaron powerhouse Laduree had the effect on me, and still does to this day. Perhaps it’s a result of the magical allure of the vibrant colors of macarons, because Los Angele’s Bottega Louie has that same WOW factor.

Italian in the kitchen, French in the bakery. This DTLA restaurant is the ultimate summer brunch spot. With great food & gorgeous dessert,the perfect spot to dine while it’s smoldering outside.

Starting with the most important part, the cocktails, Bottega’s cocktail are available ALL HOURS. Whether it’s Saturday brunch, or Monday morning, it’s there. Still offering mimosas & bloody mary’s, the cocktail menu is spectacular. There is the moulin Rogue with fresh raspberries that is summer in a glass.

To continue your weekend turned up, Night in Oaxca is the move. Made with Mezcal, Sunday Funday couldn’t get a better start.

Bottega serves up brunch classics like eggs Benedict with poached eggs, Canadian bacon, spinach on an English muffin.

As well as crowd favorites like French Toast. This isn’t your typical soggy egg French toast. Made with house baked pain de mie, this has been the first French toast I have genuinely enjoyed. Every bite from the strawberry compote, to the slight crunch of slivered almonds.

For those who aren’t into the breakfast stuff for brunch there is pizza! A large thin pizza balanced a flavor. Just like much of the menu in Bottega, this isn’t your greasy delivery pizza. Everything I had here was a lighter version of dishes that typically are artery clogging. Leaving you plenty of room to enjoy some of their famous desserts after your meal.

Trust me you will want to save room for dessert. The patisserie is a Fairy Tale. In addition to rainbow of macaroons you see upon entry, there is much more to be explored.

Bottega Louie also is open for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Swing though the patisserie or dine in the cafe for something more casual. This is definitely the spot to bring out of town visitors.
