Venice’s famous Abbott Kinney Blvd is known it’s cute boutiques and amazing restaurants. It’s a personal goal of mine to try them all. That mission proves to be very difficult because I’m already picking favorites, making it hard to further explore more restaurants. Feed | Body & Soul is one of those spots.
This restaurant has undergone many changes this past year. From new management, decor and of course a new menu, this place is back on the rise.
The music at Feed is always changing. Last time I went the sounds of ‘easy listening’ R&B filled the room with soulful vibes that uplifted the spirit. (MAXWELL DONT EVER WONDER)
I went to Feed during their Happy Hour on Monday, because it’s very necessary to jazz up the oh so dreaded Monday. Feed’s Fresca Fizz Mojito at Feed has fresh lime juice, agave nectar, mint, strawberry, soda & rum. All sounding very delicious, good enough for me to give a mojito one more shot.
I had my first mojito ever in 2012 while living in London and absolutely hated it. It tasted like a garden that was far from being Eden. I am a huge mint fan, but I found this cocktail was too overwhelming. However, when it comes to food & drink, second chances are a must. So, I decided to give the mojito another go.
Cheers to my new favorite cocktail!
I ordered the Thai Chicken Skewers. Upon ordering I was a bit sad that I hadn’t chosen an item with bread, because I LOVE bread, but both of the sandwich options that appealed to me (Thai Marinated Chicken & Asian Chicken Kefta) both came on ciabatta. I really do not enjoy ciabatta bread ( I try my best to respect the kitchen by not asking for substitutions), so I opted for a bread-less option.
Upon first bite, by sadness was gone! The vibrant flavors from the lemongrass marinade really made this an enjoyable and delightful dish.
For a follow up small plate I went with everyone’s favorite veggie, brussels sprouts. Fried to a crisp & drizzled with a creamy tahani, these teeny little cabbages left me wondering how so many of us wasted our childhood hating them.
